As a young child I was taught how to clean by my Grandmother. She would completely pull out the dishes from the cupboards regularly, wash them all, wipe down the inside of the cupboards and replace the freshly washed dishes. She was a deep, thorough cleaner and she taught my sister and I to be the same.

After I had grown up and had a family of my own, I am the proud mother of five amazing people. We had a couple of vacation homes that we rented out to the public regularly. In that business it is extremely important to have the spaces clean for the next guests. We hired cleaners to clean, but we didn’t find one that was a deep, personalized cleaner, some of them were ok, but they had a set of rules when it came to what they would do to clean, like some of them refused to move furniture, others didn’t want to get on ladders to clean high places, there was always something major left out of their cleaning capacity.

As you can imagine in our vacation homes, it was necessary that furniture be moved around to make sure it was spotless, hotel ready is what we called it. So, once again I found myself deep cleaning. I dragged my husband into it who was a better cleaner than I was, and two of our daughters who at the time were 16 and 14 years old. I look back on it now, and my daughters are amazing deep cleaners, that skill was passed down from their Great Grandmother.
